How to Delete Instagram Account 2022 – Your profile, pictures, videos, comments, likes, and followers will all be permanently deleted when you remove your account. You can choose to temporarily deactivate your account if all you want to do is take a break.
We are unable to delete an account for you due to security concerns. You’ll need to be able to log into your account to request deletion. For help logging in if you forget your username or password, see the following.
You might want to sign in and download a copy of your data from Instagram (such as your photos and posts) before deleting your account. You won’t have access to Instagram’s Data Download tool once your account has been deleted.
To ask that your account be permanently deleted:
To delete your account, go to Delete Your Account page. You will be prompted to log in if you aren’t already logged in to Instagram on the web.
Choose a choice from the list of choices below. Why do you want [account name] deleted? and enter it once more. Only after you’ve entered your password and chosen a reason from the menu will the option to permanently delete your account be displayed.
- Click Delete [username].
- Click the username in the top-right of the Delete Your Account page.
- Select Log out by clicking the arrow next to Edit profile.
- Use the account you want to delete to log back in and then follow the instructions above.
If your Instagram username hasn’t already been taken by another user, you can re-register with it or add it to another account after your account is deleted.
Keep in mind that if your account is removed for violating Community Guidelines, you may not be able to sign up again with the same username.
Your account and all of your information will be permanently deleted after 30 days of your request to have it deleted, and you won’t be able to get it back. The content is inaccessible to other Instagram users during those 30 days and is still governed by Instagram’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
The deletion process may start and take up to 90 days to finish. The backup storage that we use to recover in the event of a catastrophe, software error, or other data loss event may contain copies of your content that are still available after the 90-day period. Additionally, we might keep a record of your information for things like legal matters, terms violations, or efforts to prevent harm. Our privacy policy has more information on this.
When you attempt to log in, you’ll see a message letting you know if your Instagram account has been disabled. We reserve the right to disable accounts that violate our Community Guidelines.
By opening the app, entering your username and password, and following the on-screen instructions, you may be able to request that we review the decision if you believe that your account was mistakenly disabled.
If you don’t see a message about being disabled, you might be having login problems.
There is no way to recover your account if it was deleted by you or someone else using your password. The same email address you previously used can be used to open a new account, but you might not be able to choose the same username.
